"If we decide to implement this proposed system,
the potential for savings across the Service is enormous
thanks to the work carried out by FNA Ltd. When
we went looking for a service provider for this project
it felt like looking for a needle in a haystack - we
certainly found the right needle! I was particularly
impressed with the way the Associate Technical Director
looked at things from different angles to come up with
solutions and we never felt that they would walk away
and leave us with the consequences like others do,"
says Pete Stanley.
When FNA Ltd took on this project they knew there would
be additional considerations, especially in respect
of public sector budgets. They took a very pragmatic
and detailed approach unrestrained by doctrine that
ensured DFRS
felt they were in the hands of people with an academic
and professional understanding of the Service's needs.
"We were very keen to make sure that all the relevant
departments and people were involved in the mapping
process. This culminated in a presentation to senior
personnel showing an innovative application and package
that could meet not only the needs of the brigade but
also the requirements for E-Government & Electronic
Service Delivery. Although it was not our aim, we believe
we have provided the brigade with a service "above
and beyond" what they would have expected from
any software vendor," says Amanda Norman.
