Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service (DFRS) provides services for an area of central England that stretches from the edge of the West Midlands up to the borders of Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire.

The Service conducted a review of an internally constructed database and management information system which concluded that it inadequately met internal and external requirements. The DFRS did not have the internal resources or expertise available to address the issue and called in FNA Ltd, who then worked with DFRS over an 18 month period to devise a blueprint system that would meet the Service's needs.

The first thing FNA Ltd did was to conduct a full mapping exercise of all the DFRS business operations to establish its requirements.
